Moving Mindful Students

Information

Moving Mindful Students

The project will increase student learning and development by enabling students to recognize and articulate emotional needs and apply and reflect on strategies to support and improve their personal well-being and academic achievement. Using social emotional learning programs improves students' classroom behaviours and reduces conduct problems such as bullying. This can also help students make significant gains in academic achievement. We see a need to provide students with a social emotional toolkit to build resiliency to face the ever changing, complex and evolving world around them. We want to enable

them to lead a smarter, healthier and happier life as they find their place in the world.

The goal of the project is to make links between different school and community climates to work together to support resilient families within our school board.

Technology will be used as a teaching and learning tool by creating interactive lessons with a Mental Health focus. Each teacher will work individually and collaboratively in creating lessons and collecting evidence of growth and the impact on student achievement.
